Laboratory Supervisor required for a leading energy multi-national manufacturing site in Cork.
Managing a team of 9 shift chemists. This role provides detailed
knowledge of laboratory test methods, processes and practices for the Laboratory and its customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direction, support, leadership, training and performance management for all Shift Chemists
• Maintains a detailed knowledge of the Quality Management Systems and works with leadership team to ensure the Lab is in compliance.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge and understanding of all test methods utilized within the Lab; works with Area Specialists on implementation and development of related applications, procedures, process and practices.
• Involved in strategic long term planning for the Lab at all stages of the process
• Establish policies that actively promote the lab’s continuous improvement process.
• Schedule, lead, perform, and report on internal quality and process audits.
• Investigate, document, implement and verify implementation of preventive / corrective action plans.
• Identify, implement, and verify implementation of training for all lab personnel in the principles and application of the Company Quality Management System.
• As part of the lab’s management team, provides input into the annual lab plan.
• Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the sites Quality Management System(s) and works to ensure it is implemented and functioning as expected.
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (Level 8 or higher) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Laboratory Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• 8+ years laboratory testing experience and must have previous supervisory experience
• Proven experience leading internal audits, external audits, management reviews, and compliance activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
