Pay Range: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour (Depending on experience and certifications)
Job Description:
Francis O. Day Co., Inc., a respected paving and excavation company operating in Maryland and Virginia, is seeking a skilled Quality Control Plant Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure the quality and consistency of our asphalt products through routine inspections, equipment monitoring, and thorough documentation to maintain compliance with company standards and industry regulations. Candidates holding a VA plant certification are preferred.
Job Duties:
Conduct regular quality control checks during the asphalt production process.
Monitor and calibrate production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain accurate records of test results and production data.
Assist with troubleshooting production issues and recommending corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to streamline operations.
Report discrepancies and provide feedback to management for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Prior experience in quality control or plant operations within the asphalt or construction materials industry is preferred.
VA plant certification is highly preferred.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to interpret technical documents and quality control guidelines.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Flexibility to work either day or night shifts.
Work Environment
:
The QC Plant Technician will work in a dynamic, physically demanding environment at an asphalt production facility, including indoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to weather elements, heavy machinery, and high-temperature materials. The role involves navigating uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, and operating testing instruments, with safety protocols strictly enforced. The technician may work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime to meet production demands.
