QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR

General Description
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shop floor operations while ensuring all products meet internal quality standards and customer requirements. This is a hands-on role focused on supervision, inspection, documentation, and direct involvement in quality control activities from in-process checks through final customer reports.
JOB RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS
The Quality Control Supervisor‘s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Shop Floor Supervision
Supervise daily shop operations and production activities
Assign work, set priorities, and balance workloads
Maintain a strong hands-on presence on the shop floor
Ensure work is performed according to drawings, procedures, and specifications
Resolve production and quality issues in real time
Quality Control
Perform and oversee in-process and final inspections
Verify parts and assemblies meet specifications, blueprints, and customer requirements
Use inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools
Identify defects, non-conformances, and quality trends
Initiate corrective actions and work with operators to prevent repeat issues
Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
Customer Reporting & Documentation
Create, maintain, and review in-process inspection reports
Prepare final inspection and quality reports for customers
Ensure all reports are accurate, complete, and meet customer and contractual requirements
Compile inspection data, measurements, and certifications as required
Support customer audits, quality reviews, and documentation requests
Communicate quality results and concerns to management and customers as needed
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety rules and proper PPE usage
Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
People Leadership
Train and coach operators on quality standards and inspection methods
Provide feedback on performance and quality expectations
Support onboarding and training of new employees
Maintain consistent communication between shop floor and management
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow
Reduce scrap, rework, and customer returns
Support Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with management, engineering, and quality teams
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production shop floor environment.
Prior experience in quality control, product inspection, or shop floor supervision is preferred.
Experience working within an ISO-certified manufacturing environment is preferred.
