NEUMAN & ESSER-STASSKOL USA-Katy, TX is seeking for an additional Quality Control Technician to perform quality inspections on in-house manufactured & vendor supplied compressor parts to ensure compliance with defined quality requirements. Maintain inspection documentation systems, support shop floor quality practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
JOB SCOPE
- Inspection of all new and repaired components to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
- Maintains accurate quality records in accordance with Company quality procedure / standards
- Perform first article, in-process, visual, and final inspections using hand tools and CMM equipment
- Maintain and ensure proper condition, calibration, and inventory of precision inspection tools. Support calibration scheduling and coordination with external calibration providers
- Maintain organization and integrity of the inspection area
- Identify non-conforming products, generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and coordinate resolution with the Manufacturing Support team
- Participate in root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide support to the Repair Coordinator in Repair Projects
- Support shop floor personnel in interpreting engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements
- Assist in developing and improving inspection procedures, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
- Verify material certifications and maintain traceability documentation
- Assist with supplier quality activities, including incoming inspections and vendor evaluations
- Review and validate inspection reports and documentation for completeness and accuracy
- Serve as a subject matter resource for inspection tools and measurement best practices. Train and mentor machinists and technicians on proper use of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability across the shop floor
- Provide technical and hands-on support to repair coordinator and interface with logistics, procurement, vendors and manufacturing support team
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Performs other related duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EXPECTATIONS
- Ability to read and interpret detailed manufacturing drawings
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application in inspection processes
- Working Knowledge of BS, DIN, EN, ISO standards
- Ability to read and interpret detailed manufacturing drawings
- Familiarity with nondestructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus
- Technical knowledge and experience with reciprocating compressors is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrates accountability and willingness to seek guidance when needed
- Commitment to continuous improvement in all activities
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management systems is advantageous
- Proficient in the use of all handheld measuring equipment and precision tools
QUALIFICIATIONS/HARDWARE/SOFTWARE
- Associates Degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft CRM Dynamics and SharePoint is helpful
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Salary: $57,000-$62,000
