Quality Assurance Technician (Food Manufacturing)

The QA Lab Tech will be responsible for assisting the QA department in maintaining high product quality while staying up to date with company, industry, and government regulations. This position should be able to communicate information effectively and will assist in implementing corrective actions. The QA Lab Tech will also establish and maintain relationships with supervisors, peers, and vendors.
Responsibilities:
Collect, prepare, and deliver samples to the onsite lab
Ensure compliance with documentation and food safety programs.
Perform weekly internal audits against company GMPs and HACCP program.
Monitor the quality and safety of operations during production
Escalate quality or food safety findings or incidents to management
Stay up to date with Safetychain software, & assist in the implementation of any relevant program updates
Revise SOPs as directed.
Assist product with label and inkjet printers
Conduct daily quality sampling and testing
Perform calibration activities
Collaborate with QA and other relevant departments for the hold and release of ingredients, packaging, finished goods, and facilities.
Assist QA manager with 3rd party consultants and regulatory audits.
Responsible for laboratory inventory checks
Perform chemical titrations and maintaining compliance with sanitation pail procedures
Perform any other duties as assigned by QA Manager
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Laboratory experience preferred
Reliable transportation
Valid driver’s license
Dairy experience preferred
Proficiency in Excel preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to convey information clearly
Quick and accurate reading of small details in work-related documents.
Basic math skills and quick, accurate number recognition.
Ability to distinguish between colors.
Good near vision to see details up close.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to wear a hairnet and beard-net while in production area
Ability to wear hearing protection
