Our expanding optometry practice in Granville, Ohio, is searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented Pre-Tester to join our team. As we move into our brand new office, we’re excited to welcome someone who shares our commitment to providing exceptional care and service to our patients. In this role, you will be responsible for working up patients for their eye exams by performing essential pre-test procedures. Your work will help ensure the smooth flow of patient care and assist the optometrists in providing accurate, efficient, and effective eye care services. You will play a key role in providing a positive patient experience while supporting the clinical team.

Job Description:
As a Pre-Tester, you will be the first point of contact for patients and will play a critical role in supporting the optometrist during the examination process. Your responsibilities will include:

Conducting initial patient intake, including gathering medical history and relevant information.
Performing pre-examination tests including autorefraction, intraocular pressure measurement, retinal photography, measuring visual acuity, and instilling dilation drops.
Assisting with the setup of equipment and ensuring patients are comfortable prior to their eye exam.
Preparing patients for their exam by answering any questions they may have.
Recording test results and ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records.
Maintaining and cleaning all testing equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Supporting the optometrist with any other tasks as needed during the exam process.
Creating a warm and welcoming environment for patients, ensuring they feel at ease during their visit.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and answer patient questions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Compassionate, friendly, and patient-focused approach.
Ability to operate basic office and medical equipment.
A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
