Role Description
The Quality Control (QC) Technician will be responsible for chemical and physical analysis of incoming seed, intermediates as required, and finished goods on a daily basis. The QC technician will verify that results are within specification, and take corrective action and/or notify their supervisor in case of any deviation.
Essential Job Functions Summary
Perform analysis of incoming seed samples
Verify finished product samples against production reports to ensure the lab has received samples for all skids produced
Create composite samples where required
Perform chemical (including moisture, protein, fixed oil, volatile oil) and physical testing (grading) on samples, send samples to outside labs for testing that cannot be performed in-house
Activities relating to Canadian Grain Sampling Program
Report out of spec results to supervisor
Send results of all analysis for product release
Perform housekeeping duties as required
Qualifications
Completion of Food Safety, GMP, HACCP training
Familiarity with use of Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Share Point
Strong oral and written communication skills
Quality Control and Quality Assurance skills
Analytical Skills and Laboratory Skills
Experience with laboratory equipment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing processes
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards
Relevant certification or diploma in Quality Control or related field
