Position Summary:
AFEX Fire Suppression Systems is a leading manufacturer of fire suppression systems for heavy equipment, serving industries like mining, forestry, and oil & gas. We are ISO 9001 certified and committed to delivering high-reliability products that protect lives and assets. As we continue to grow and refine our processes, we’re looking for a Quality Engineer to support and enhance our quality system.
The Quality Engineer will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, managing quality control processes, supporting regulatory compliance efforts, and maintaining ISO 9001 standards. This position works closely with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure our products and processes meet internal and external requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and improve standard operating procedures and inspection protocols for parts and assemblies.
- Lead and/or support corrective and preventative actions and follow up on effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production to review specifications, drawings, and first article inspections.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining ISO 9001 documentation, audit schedules, and training.
- Monitor non-conformances, rejections, and supplier quality issues, ensuring appropriate resolution and documentation.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to drive decisions, improve processes, and identify risk areas.
- Participate in internal and supplier audits and support external audits and customer inspections.
- Management and maintenance of calibration systems and records.
- Create and maintain inspection documentation and work instructions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of experience in a quality, manufacturing, or engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and experience with auditing of processes
- Proficiency with measurement tools and mechanical inspection processes.
- Comfortable reading technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
