Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of medical coding and billing processes. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and compliance standards. The Quality Analyst will work closely with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and maintain high-quality standards in our medical office.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding using ICD-9 and ICD-10 systems.
Conduct audits on medical billing and collections to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with coding staff to provide feedback and training on best practices in medical coding.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards related to medical billing and coding.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry trends.
Prepare reports on quality metrics, findings, and recommendations for process enhancements.
Assist in the development of training materials for staff regarding DRG, medical collection processes, and coding practices.
Experience
Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related roles within a healthcare setting is preferred.
Familiarity with DRG systems, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology is essential.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in quality assessments.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
