Position Summary
Provide quality support to manufacturing lines to ensure production schedules are on time. Support High Pressure Die Cast (HPDC) “As Cast”/Machining/Assembly Production. Champion defect analysis and work closely with other departments to verify issues are counter measured using QRQC when required. Investigate defects found in‑line and at final inspection and final product audits.
Responsibilities
- Support Quality & Manufacturing Department with introduction of new customers and customer‑specific requirements (CSR).
- Maintain supplier improvement processes through 4M Management, PFEMA, and control plan creation & audits.
- Prepare PPAP packages with data from metrology.
- Prepare test result summary with special testing data/results (e.g., 3000 hr adhesion test for structural parts).
- Support supplier visits/audits for aluminum suppliers using VDA 6.3 potential analysis method and other IATF‑16949:2016 international standards, and other suppliers as needed with Corporate SQA Department.
- Work closely with Corporate Customer Service Engineers on warranty field‑related issues.
- Responsible for filling out 8D’s and implementing countermeasures.
- Review and keep QC check sheets up to date.
- Publish plant and corporate monthly quality reports as required.
- Other duties as required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of QA or CMM experience for “as cast,” machined, assembled parts and/or powertrain/engine‑related supplier parts with high‑precision measurement experience.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and explain CMM reports.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong use of metric system units required.
- Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
- Minimum of 2–3 years automotive/defense quality experience in either parts quality or assembly/machining/casting quality.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate countermeasure solutions to the Quality Manager.
- Ability to compile data and create reports in Microsoft Office applications.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to work on multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the company.
