POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of the Quality Inspector role is to assess and ensure the quality of products or services through thorough inspection processes. Responsibilities include examining materials, components, and final products to identify defects, deviations from specifications, and areas for improvement. The Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing product quality standards, adhering to industry regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues. This position requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest quality standards throughout the production or service delivery process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but not limited to, the following:
· Basic setup of a QC station for materials inspection
· Maintain detailed records of inspections, noting deviations or defects found to ensure traceability and quality control
· Conduct detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify adherence to specifications
· Approves or rejects items and documents inspection results as required
· Communicate identified defects promptly to supervisors and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution
· Identifies and documents product and process non-conformances
· Generate and follow up on Non-Conformances and CAPAs, as required
· Participates in a Material Review Board to review and process non-conformance reports
· Tracks, trends and reports on quality data for assigned areas
· Identifies opportunities for process continuous improvement
· Analyze quality-related customer concerns, identify root causes, and collaborate on solutions to prevent recurrence
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot defects and implement corrective actions.
· Red tagging of any equipment that is out of calibration
· Keeps measuring equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
· Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators and CMM inspection equipment for validation of build to print specifications
· Perform durability, functionality, and safety tests to validate product quality and performance using standardized methods
· Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
· Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices in quality assurance
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
· Validate routers & product travelers are correct and current
· Participate in internal audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality management system
· Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related actions, as needed
· Other job duties as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
· 1-3 years of experience in performing various quality/inspection activities
· Experience in an Aerospace or Medical products environment a plus
· Ability to read & interpret mechanical drawings
· Good 20/20 vision for material defect inspection
· Quality Assurance inspection practices on incoming / outgoing shipped materials
· Excel, Word and general computer usage skills
· Proficient use of Micrometers, Calipers and CMM, (Coordinate-Measuring machine).
· Review and interpretation of mechanical drawings
· Well organized and excellent verbal and communication skills
· Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 certification process and how it relates to the quality inspection process

· MUST BE U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident to comply with ITAR

· Willing and able to perform a wide range of physical activities, some requiring fine manual dexterity
· Warehouse work environment; must be able to work in non-heated/cooled warehouse environment. Facility can be noisy and dusty.
