Position Summary
This role supports our manufacturing operations by conducting daily inspections of parts, weldments, and assemblies. Key responsibilities include performing visual and dimensional checks, managing quality documentation, and collaborating with Production and Quality team members to ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Essential Functions
- Perform incoming, in-process and final inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies, using proper equipment and techniques, including advanced inspection methods
- Ensure incoming raw materials are in compliance with Purchase Order specifications
- Identify and report nonconforming materials and parts
- Utilize problem solving skills to effectively resolve part issues with Production and Quality personnel
- Prepare fixtures and create inspection programs, as needed
- Create, maintain, and file inspection records and quality documentation
- Assist with First Article Inspections, Production Part Approval Process inspections and other inspections as required by customers
- Provide guidance to Production personnel on inspection procedures and equipment
Additional Duties
- Notify management of any product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and/or personal injuries
- Participate in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and initiatives in areas within direct control

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to professionally communicate with both verbal and written skills
- Independent thinking and sound judgment, accompanied by problem solving and analysis skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with Production personnel and managers/supervisors both inside and outside of Quality
- Excellent time management with strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, control plans, engineering specifications, fabrication/assembly drawings and receive verbal instructions to complete work assignments
- Comfortable working with hand-held measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, etc.
- Experience working with advanced inspection equipment: ZEISS coordinate measuring machines (utilizing ZEISS Calypso software), and FaroArms (utilizing PolyWorks software)
- Must possess a working knowledge of basic and intermediate math skills, including geometry and trigonometry
- Proficient in interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a field of study with emphasis in Engineering, Manufacturing or Metrology, accompanied by a minimum of 2 to 4 years proven inspection or manufacturing experience in a relevant environment
- Alternatively, a candidate with their Machinist Journeyman’s papers, accompanied by a minimum of 2 to 4 years relevant manufacturing experience
- Previous work experience for this position can include dimensional part inspection as a Production operator and does not have to be tied directly to dedicated QA support
Work Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Work is generally performed in a climate-controlled environment
- Will be required to work in a lab setting with other employees
- Regular tasks that require alternating between standing and sitting
- Repetitive fine motor skills in the form of using sensitive measuring tools/devices and use of a keyboard
- Frequent reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling in repetitive-motion job tasks requiring eye/hand coordination
- Up to 50 lb. maximum lifting and carrying, on an occasional basis
- Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, as needed
