Job Position: Quality Inspector
Reports To: Quality Manager
Authority: All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: 1) a quality defect, 2) an unsafe act, or 3) a health hazard.
Job Competencies/Duties (include, but are not limited to):
- Competencies:
- High School diploma or equivalent work-related experience
- Basic understanding of measurement systems
- Good attention to detail
- Basic ability to read and understand prints and technical documents
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills in Word, Excel and Windows.
- Leadership and team building
Job Duties:
- Use appropriate inspection methods to verify part dimensions
- Approve initial production parts prior to production startup (molding)
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
- Communicate with Production when issues are found.
- Documents inspection results inputting data into quality database or appropriate data log.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
- Assist, when directed by the Quality Manager, the second operations/sorting department.
- Work on production floor when you have free time.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Establish, maintain, and review SPC charts as applicable
- Use computer-assisted measurement and analysis systems
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
- Assist in audits, communicate results, and verify corrective actions
- Assist the Quality Engineer in performing layouts; gage R&Rs, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
· Maintain the highest quality work to continuously ensure customer satisfaction.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
