The Quality Inspector performs inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure they meet company and customer quality standards while supporting efficient production.
What You’ll Do:
- Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished materials using engineering prints, customer drawings, and specifications.
- Perform visual inspections, dimensional checks, and First Article Inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
- Identify and document nonconforming materials, determine disposition with Engineering, Sales, or Management, and complete required reports.
- Approve finished products that meet quality standards.
- Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and production data.
- Perform or verify calibration of measuring equipment and maintain calibration records.
- Sort and inspect nonconforming materials for rework, return, or scrap.
- Train and assist production employees on inspection methods, measurements, and quality standards.
- Maintain measuring equipment and perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Manufacturing or quality inspection experience preferred, ideally in metal fabrication.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong math skills and understanding of standard and metric measurements.
- Basic computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Stand for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, stoop, and lift materials.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with assistance or lifting equipment.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and metal materials while wearing required PPE.
