Job Summary:
The Experienced Senior Associate – Assurance Quality Management is responsible for project management, assessment and understanding of causes of audit quality events, testing the Firm’s system of quality management, maintaining, and supporting audit quality tools, and assisting with managing responsive actions to enhance the Firm’s system of quality management. The Experienced Senior Associate gathers and analyzes data to identify systemic trends and conditions, assists in planning audit quality improvements and assists in the development and implementation of audit quality indicators as a key member of the Assurance Audit Quality Management team.
Job Duties:
Demonstrates an inquisitive mind to bring value-added insights to analyses and solutions
Applies advanced technical skills to analyze and assimilate data (Excel, PowerBI, internal applications, etc.)
Demonstrates strong project management skills, including managing projects timely to meet tight deadlines
Assists in gathering and analyzing audit quality indicators
Tests controls identified in the Firm’s system of quality management, assists in deficiency analysis and preparation of annual certification report
Assists with preparing various audit quality reporting to leadership and the practice
Assists with maintaining various audit quality programs, including support to professionals, maintaining applications, and confirming completeness and accuracy of program data
Assists with PCAOB firm level inspection activities, including data requests, meeting support
Assists with preparing firm level remediation responses to the regulator
Assists in performance of root cause analysis
Applies relevant GAAP, GAAS, SEC, PCAOB and other applicable or emerging regulations and standards, and the BDO Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct with honesty and integrity

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, required
Experience:
Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience, required
License/Certifications:
CPA preferred
Actively pursuing completion of CPA licensing, preferred
Software:
Advanced Excel skills, required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, PowerBI, and Outlook, preferred
Experience with accounting research databases, preferred
Language:
N/A
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong project management skills
Superior written and verbal communications skills, including ability to work with offshore team members
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Solid understanding and proficiency of accounting and auditing standards (PCAOB) and reporting requirements
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
California Range: $85,000 – $120,000
Colorado Range: $80,000 – $105,000
Maryland Range: $90,000 – $100,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $80,000 – $115,000
Washington Range: $80,000 – $100,000
Washington DC Range: $95,000 – $120,000
