The pay rate is the same for first and second shift.


Available Shifts


First Shift

  • Regular start time: 3:00 a.m.
  • Regular end time: 11:30 a.m.
  • Employees may be required to work until approximately 3:00 p.m., based on production and customer needs.


Second Shift

  • Regular start time: 3:00 p.m.
  • Regular end time: 11:30 p.m.
  • Employees may be required to work until approximately 3:00 a.m., based on production and customer needs.


Candidates must be available to work the full shift and any required overtime. Shift end times may vary depending on production schedules, customer demand, and project requirements.


Position Summary

Stratosphere Quality is hiring full-time Quality Inspectors to support automotive manufacturing operations at one of our Partner’s facilities in Steele, Alabama and the surrounding area up to 1 hour.

Quality Inspectors are responsible for inspecting automotive metal components and assemblies to identify defects and verify that products meet established customer quality standards. Employees will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that may include metal stamping, robotic welding, automated equipment, assembly operations, and material-handling activity.

This position requires excellent attendance, strong attention to detail, the ability to perform repetitive inspection duties, and flexibility to work required overtime.

Essential Job Duties

  • Inspect automotive parts and components for visible defects, damage, improper assembly, weld concerns, dimensional issues, and other nonconforming conditions.
  • Follow written work instructions, inspection criteria, visual standards, and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Perform visual and manual inspections of automotive metal parts and assemblies.
  • Identify and separate acceptable, rejected, and suspect materials.
  • Sort, contain, label, rework, or organize parts as instructed.
  • Document inspection results accurately using paper forms, electronic systems, tablets, or other required tools.
  • Immediately report defects, quality concerns, safety issues, and process changes to the Site Supervisor.
  • Maintain required inspection and production rates without compromising safety or quality.
  • Handle parts carefully to prevent damage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety rules and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with Stratosphere Quality employees, supervisors, customer representatives, and production personnel.
  • Support containment inspections, controlled shipping, quality audits, product launches, sorting projects, and other customer quality activities.
  • Stand and perform repetitive inspection work for extended periods.
  • Work the assigned schedule and remain available for required overtime.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, automotive production, quality inspection, assembly, warehousing, machine operation, or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates may be considered when they demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to learn.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Ability to identify differences between acceptable and defective parts.
  • Basic counting, math, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to use a computer, tablet, or electronic reporting system.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the Steele, Alabama worksite.
  • Must be able to report to work consistently and on time.
  • Must be available to work the selected shift and required overtime.
