Job Description
Position Summary:
Building upon Level 1, under supervision, the Quality Inspector – Level 2 inspects work from blueprints, digital models, and customer specifications to identify non-conforming products, using knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASM 14.5, and inspection equipment. They may operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)/Scanners and manipulate digital models in CATIA. Typically working as receiving, final, or entry-level CMM inspectors, candidates must be U.S. citizens.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Interpret job router/manufacturing order
Perform basic CMM operation
Set and use bore gauges
Sealant inspection
Inspect fastener installation
Perform first part inspections
Create rejection tags
Perform in-process and final inspection of parts and assemblies
Verify part identification and configurations
Prioritize inspection queues
Identify and segregate non-conforming products
Train on GD&T
Use inspection tools like surface plates, micrometers, height gauges
Perform full first article inspection
Transport parts as needed
Interpret certifications
Maintain tools and equipment
Maintain area cleanliness (6S)
Follow safety policies and company procedures
Adhere to Business Quality Management System (BQMS)
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Level 1 competencies
Intermediate print reading and GD&T
Intermediate math skills
Familiarity with inspection tools
Ability to use profilometer and be certified for Rockwell/Eddy Current testing
Knowledge of BAC
5300
Ability to meet cycle times
Quick learner, punctual, able to lift 35 lbs
NDT/CMM experience preferred
Required Experience: 2-3 years
Education: GED or High School diploma preferred
Physical Demands: Ability to handle physical tasks, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform visual and physical inspections.
Work Environment: Moderate noise, occasional airborne particles, vibration, and physical activity.
