Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Safety Supervisor to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all food safety standards are met and maintained throughout our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, quality control, and food safety regulations, with the ability to analyze processes and implement effective quality systems.

Responsibilities

· Support and maintain compliance with the BRCGS standard and other Food Safety programs, including preparation for annual audits.

· Supervise and coordinate the activities of quality, sanitation, and janitorial teams to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.

· Collaborate with production, maintenance, inventory, and customer service teams to address quality-related issues and drive improvement efforts.

· Provide hands-on training and coaching to employees on quality assurance principles, procedures, and company standards.

· Monitor customer feedback and complaints related to quality, investigate issues, and recommend corrective actions to management.

· Maintain accurate records and documentation, including test results, inspection reports, certificates, and corrective action plans.

· Conduct regular inspections, audits, and swabbing (food and non-food contact areas) to verify compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Support the development and implementation of sanitation programs and protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory and Halal requirements.

· Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation of QA, sanitation, and janitorial staff.

· Promote a culture of quality, food safety, and accountability throughout the facility.

· Analyze quality and sanitation data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports for management review.

· Communicate quality standards and expectations across teams, reinforcing compliance and continuous improvement.

· Identify recurring quality or sanitation issues and work with leadership to implement sustainable solutions.

· Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and organizational regulations and policies related to food safety, health, and employee safety.

· Support disciplinary actions and personnel decisions in alignment with company policies.

· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· 2+ years of food safety, quality assurance, or sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.

· 1+ year of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

· Working knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, GMPs, food safety systems, and sanitation best practices.

· Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and quality management systems.

· HACCP or PCQI certification preferred.

· Must be bilingual (English and Spanish).

Education and Experience:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or a related field preferred.

· 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, or sanitation in a food manufacturing or processing environment.

· At least 3-5 years of supervisory or lead experience in quality assurance, food safety, or sanitation in a food processing or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to perform the essential job duties consistently safely and successfully.

· Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone, radio and in person.

· Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods while performing facility inspections and audits.

· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed during sanitation and quality verifications.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.

· Ability to work in environments with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.

· Must have sufficient visual and auditory acuity to conduct inspections and communicate effectively in a production environment.

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, hearing protection, and safety glasses is required when in production areas.

· Must be able to travel to different facilities.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:

This position operates primarily in an office setting but requires regular visits to production areas within our facilities. The employee will be exposed to varying temperatures, dust, loud noise, and moving machinery during facility inspections, verifications, and support activities. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in designated areas. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting may be necessary while performing audits and inspections.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
