ROLE: Manufacturing Quality Inspector
PURPOSE: Machine Shop Quality Inspector is responsible for the quality department and for ensuring customer satisfaction and conformance of all Manufactured parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read and understand engineering drawings of manufactured parts, their specs, and dimensions.
Resolve quality issues due to production and fabrication errors
Coach and train the team in quality requirements
Evaluate and record measurements to ensure all manufactured and sub-contracted parts are in accordance to customer’s specification by the company’s inspection procedure and quality standards.
Inspect finished goods and complete quality certifications prior to shipping
Complete First Article Inspections and record data.
Verify, report and record any non-conformances, according to company procedures.
Liaison with Customer Manager to proactively and reactively to meet the Customer’s quality requirements and resolve any quality issues.
Own the resolution of all internal and external Discrepancies through company MRB process.
Ensure all inspection tools are clean and accurately calibrated according to company procedure and schedule.
Support the Customer Manager with the Return Material Authorization and Corrective Action process to ensure defective quality escapes are handled in a timely manner.

SKILL REQUIREMENT:
Able to read and comprehend engineering drawings
Experience in using a range of measuring and inspection equipment, including micrometer and profile gauge
Expert CMM operator
Expert in geometric tolerancing
Basic understanding of machining processes
Basic understanding of coatings, finishing and processes of metals
Good oral and written communication skills (English)
Ability to work independently
Complete understanding of ISO 9001:2015 QMS programs in manufacturing environment
Problem Solving abilities; detailed and thorough approach to identifying problems; understanding corrective actions
Proficient and Microsoft Word, Excel
Ability to lift 50lbs
COMPENSATION: This is a full time, hourly position based on experience. Full time employees are eligible for health insurance after 60 days of employment. After 90 days, eligible for dental insurance, vision insurance, short term disability, long term disability, term life insurance and Simple IRA program with percentage match contributions. Vacation, personal time accrual and seven paid holidays.
