Our client
is a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to support inspection, calibration, and quality assurance activities. In this role, you’ll perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections, complete First Article Inspection Reports, maintain quality and calibration records, and verify the accuracy of test and measurement equipment — working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to keep products and processes compliant with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of precision aerospace components and assemblies
  • Use precision measurement equipment — calipers, micrometers, gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), electronic and pressure equipment
  • Complete First Article Inspections and documentation per AS9102 requirements
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
  • Calibrate, certify, maintain, and verify test, measurement, and inspection equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on tools/equipment
  • Maintain accurate inspection, calibration, gauge-control, and traceability records
  • Issue, receive, and track gauges and inspection equipment through the calibration-management system
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming products and materials
  • Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Help develop assembly procedures, inspection plans, calibration procedures, and quality control plans
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and outside vendors to resolve inspection/equipment issues
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits with quality and calibration documentation

What You Bring

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, inspection, calibration, precision measurement, or aerospace manufacturing
  • Experience using precision measurement and inspection tools
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Working knowledge of calibration practices, measurement standards, and gauge-control requirements
  • Familiarity with AS9100, AS9102, and/or AS13001 requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office and quality/calibration management systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • ASQ-recognized Calibration Technician certification

Work Environment

  • Split between professional office and manufacturing/machine shop environments
  • Exposure to fluids, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment, noise, vibration, chemicals, and changing temperatures
  • Regular standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing stairs
  • Precision visual ability required for inspection/calibration work; occasional lifting/moving up to 40 lbs
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required; approximately 5-10% travel
