Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated knowledgeable healthcare Policy and Procedure Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, developing analyzing, and implementing healthcare policies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that policies promote high-quality patient care, enhance operational efficiency, and comply with state and federal regulations.

Other information:

Experience Required: Familiarity with healthcare quality improvement methodologies is preferred. Minimum of 3 experience in healthcare policy analysis, project development, or

administrative/clerical tasks. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in data management systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, public policy, or a related field;
Licensure/Certifications Required: N/A

Experience Preferred: Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance issues.
Education Preferred: Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure/Certifications Preferred: N/A

Responsibilities:

Policy Administrator:

1. Policy Development:

Research and analyze current healthcare policies and legislation.
Develop and recommend policies that address healthcare delivery, patient safety, and quality of care.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure policies are practical and effective.

2. Policy Oversight:

Monitor changes in healthcare laws and regulations to ensure compliance across the organization.
Prepare and submit new policies for approval and submit current policies for periodic updates and validation of content on regular policy schedule.

3. Education and Training:

Develop training materials as needed to roll out new policy content and work directly with leaders to educate staff on new policies, changes to current policies and any additional information pertinent organizational outcomes.
Foster a culture of compliance and awareness regarding healthcare policies among employees.

5. Data Analysis and Reporting:

Utilize data analytics to evaluate the impact of policies on healthcare outcomes and organizational performance.
Generate reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders summarizing policy effectiveness and recommendations for improvements.

6. Quality Improvement Initiatives:

Participate in quality assurance and improvement projects related to healthcare policies, policy effectiveness, and or other quality improvement initiatives.
Work collaboratively to identify areas for enhancement and develop action plans.

Quality Coordinator:

1. Data Collection and Analysis:

Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to quality indicators.

2. Reporting:

Preparing and presenting reports on quality metrics to hospital administration, nursing staff, and other stakeholders to inform decision-making.

3. Quality Improvement Initiatives:

Developing and implementing quality improvement strategies based on data findings to enhance patient care and practice.

4. Benchmarking:

Comparing organizational performance data against national benchmarks to identify areas for improvement and highlight successes.

5. Documentation and Compliance:

Ensuring accurate documentation of quality indicator data and compliance with regulatory requirements related to quality measures.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Research and Data Analysis:

Conducting research on emerging healthcare policies or trends that interest them personally, rather than mandated projects.

2. Professional Development Activities:

Attending seminars or workshops related to healthcare policy that are beneficial for professional growth but not obligatory for their role.

3. Other duties as assigned.
