Position Summary:

We are seeking a technically skilled and visionary Quality Engineering Manager to lead the development of a new quality engineering team focused on productivity, and quality improvement. This role blends traditional quality engineering with advanced automation and team leadership. You will be responsible for building a high-performing team, implementing modern quality systems, and ensuring world-class product and process quality.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Engineering & Compliance
Develop and implement quality standards, inspection protocols, and mistake-proofing systems.
Lead root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and internal/external audits.
Ensure compliance with ISO/QMS and customer-specific requirements.
Oversee First Article Inspections, Control Plans, and Gauge R&R studies.
Implement and maintain mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) techniques to reduce human error.
Utilize inspection technologies (e.g., vision systems, laser measurement, barcode scanning) to enhance defect detection and traceability.
Drive data-driven decision-making using SPC, trend analysis, and quality metrics.
Develop and maintain visual KPIs to track quality performance and drive continuous improvement.
Create and manage Power BI reports and dashboards to provide real-time insights into quality metrics.
Develop an overall quality index to gauge plant performance and identify areas for improvement.
Productivity & Quality Improvement
Partner up / lead quality related automation initiatives including MES, robotics, and vision-guided inspection systems.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to integrate automation into quality processes.
Manage CapEx projects related to quality automation and process optimization.
Reduce scrap, improve throughput, and eliminate waste through lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Leadership & Team Building
Build and manage a new quality engineering team from the ground up.
Mentor and develop engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Partner with operations, engineering, and IT to align quality goals with business objectives.
Promote psychological safety and continuous learning within the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Quality, or related field.
7+ years of experience in quality engineering, automation, or manufacturing leadership roles.
Proven experience with automation technologies and quality systems.
Strong knowledge of Gauge R&R, Control Plans, First Article Inspection, and inspection technologies.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Certifications:
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
PMP or Certified Automation Professional (CAP)
