Performs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products. Analyzes process reports and troubleshoots problems to correct quality issues.
Essential
Job Duties:
Conducts quality assurance testing on products and raw materials on the plant floor.
Utilizes and/or adapts inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, makes suggestions about procedures, standards, and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
Investigates and determines the cause of faulty work and consults with production supervisors on corrective measures.
Ensures that sell-by and production dates are correct on product runs.
Analyzes facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine appropriate actions within standard practices.
Measures and tests products, tabulates data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
May assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience in food manufacturing quality control preferred.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Well-organized with good attention to detail.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Adaptable and dependable, able to follow directions and work cooperatively with others.
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions and handle problems with a few variables.
Physical Requirements:
Activities:
Manufacturing work on the plant floor, standing or sitting for long hours, bending, stooping, and lifting.
Hearing:
Ability to hear normal conversations and receive information, sometimes with loud background noise.
Repetitive Motion:
Frequent use of wrists, hands, and fingers.
Visual Abilities:
Average visual acuity for inspecting documents, products, or operating machinery.
Physical Strength:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions:
Long hours in a wet, damp, and cold environment, often below freezing temperatures.
