As a QA Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our software solutions—focusing on insurance platforms and shared services applications that support policy administration, underwriting, billing, and claims processing.
In this role, you will design, develop, and execute comprehensive automated test suites, contributing directly to the delivery of scalable, secure, and multi-tenant systems that meet both functional and business requirements. You will collaborate closely with developers, Business Analysts, QA team members, product owners, and business stakeholders, utilizing modern tools and best practices to drive high test coverage, enable continuous feedback, and detect defects early in the software development lifecycle.
Accountabilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test scripts across web UI, APIs, and backend components using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, RestAssured, etc.
Develop and maintain modular, data-driven, and reusable test automation frameworks supporting regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing in CI/CD environments.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI, enabling fast feedback and zero-touch deployments.
Implement test data automation and service virtualization to enable robust testing in distributed microservices environments.
Perform API testing and contract validation using tools like Postman, Swagger, ReadyAPI, or Karate.
Define and execute performance, scalability, and load testing using JMeter, Gatling, or k6 where applicable.
Contribute to observability of test executions using test reporting and logging platforms (e.g., Allure, Extent Reports, Grafana).
Identify, log, and triage defects in systems like Jira, and work closely with development teams on root cause analysis and resolution.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, offering feedback and ensuring testing is aligned with the Definition of Done.
Champion automation best practices and contribute to test governance, quality metrics, and process improvement.
Ensure all testing practices meet internal security, privacy, and regulatory standards (e.g., PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA where applicable).
Stay current with the latest QA automation tools, technologies, and frameworks, and proactively introduce innovation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB Advanced, Selenium CP-SAT, Postman API Certification, Agile Tester, AWS DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
