Overview: We are seeking an experienced Program Manager / Project Manager to oversee the execution of a large-scale data center construction project in the UAE, Abu Dhabi. The role will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring timely completion, quality control, budget adherence, and stakeholder coordination. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data center infrastructure development, construction management, and project execution within mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of a hyperscale data center project, ensuring all phases are executed according to plan.
Develop and oversee project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, and subcontractor teams to maintain project alignment with industry standards and local regulations.
Ensure compliance with UAE construction codes, data center best practices, and sustainability requirements.
Manage stakeholder communication, including clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities, ensuring smooth project execution.
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that all project deliverables meet performance, security, and efficiency benchmarks.
Lead project progress meetings and provide detailed reporting on risks, milestones, and overall execution.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource allocation.
Manage and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and compliance requirements.
Oversee the integration of power, cooling, and network infrastructure, working closely with vendors and technology partners.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
10+ years of experience in project/program management within data center construction, mission-critical infrastructure, or large-scale industrial projects.
Strong understanding of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, power distribution, and cooling technologies used in data centers.
Experience with construction management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and project tracking tools.
Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards, LEED certifications, and local regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to manage large teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders across various disciplines.
Strong negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is a plus.
