Job Overview We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Automation) with expertise in Selenium WebDriver, Java, Playwright, TypeScript, and automated testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and project managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software through effective automation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, design, and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver and Playwright.
- Design and architect scalable, reusable, and maintainable UI automation frameworks using Page Object Model (POM) and modular framework approaches.
- Develop UI automation solutions using Playwright with TypeScript and Selenium with Java.
- Collaborate with software developers, quality assurance engineers, product managers, and project managers to ensure high-quality software releases.
- Analyze user requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Write clear, concise, and well-documented test cases and automation scripts.
- Execute, assess, and report test results for both manual and automated test cases.
- Detect and analyze software defects, engaging with developers to identify and implement solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis of automation failures and implement improvements to increase test stability, reliability, and execution efficiency.
- Own the end-to-end automation strategy, including framework design, test coverage, execution, and release validation.
- Integrate and optimize automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Drive shift-left testing practices and contribute to improving overall engineering quality.
- Mentor junior QA/automation engineers and provide technical guidance on automation best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging testing tools, AI/ML trends, and automation methodologies.
Requirements and Skills
- 4–8 years of experience in automation testing for web applications.
- Hands-on experience in UI test automation using Playwright and/or Selenium WebDriver.
- Strong working knowledge of TypeScript and/or Java.
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber (BDD).
- Proven experience in API automation testing using Rest Assured and/or Playwright.
- Practical experience with version control systems such as Git, including GitLab and/or GitHub.
- Hands-on experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep understanding of software testing processes, test design techniques, and the complete defect lifecycle.
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web application architecture.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with build and quality tools such as Maven and SonarQube.
- Experience with cloud-based test execution platforms such as Sauce Labs.
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven testing approaches, including leveraging AI tools for test generation and execution.
- Experience in mobile application testing is a plus.
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP and Burp Suite.
