About the Role:
We are looking for a QA Engineer with hands-on manual testing experience and understanding of networking fundamentals, working knowledge of the OSI and TCP/IP network layer models. Engineer have to work closely with development, product, and network engineering teams to validate software, analyse traffic behaviour, and ensure quality within an Agile delivery model.
Key Responsibilities:
*Analyze requirements and design comprehensive test cases, test plans, and test scenarios for network-based applications and features.
*Execute manual functional, regression, integration, and sanity tests on software involving routers, switches, VLANs, and related network components.
*Apply knowledge of OSI and TCP/IP network layers to trace issues across Physical, Data Link, Network, Transport, and Application layers during test execution.
*Validate VLAN segment, L2 switching, and L3 routing behavior across test environments.
*Log, track, and follow up on defects using bug tracking tools (Jira, Zoho, or equivalent), ensure clear reproduction steps and accurate severity classification.
*Participate actively in Agile Methodology – sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
*Collaborate with developers and product owners to clarify acceptance criteria and ensure stories are testable before sprint commitment.
*Maintain and update test documentation, traceability matrices, and test execution reports.
*Communicate defect status, testing progress, and quality risks clearly to stakeholders and team.
Good to have:
Exposure to basic automation scripting (Python, Selenium) for future upskilling.
Familiarity with firewall rule validation and security policy testing.
Knowledge of IPV4 & IPv6 addressing and dual-stack environments.
Experience writing Python scripts
