Senior Quality Manufacturing Engineer

Under the direction of the Plant Quality Manager, the Senior Quality Engineer has direct responsibility for implementing, maintaining, and facilitating continuous quality improvement objectives for site manufacturing quality control, environmental testing activities and the calibration programs.
Evaluation of effectiveness of incoming, in-process, final inspection and process control mechanisms is an integral part of this position. Development of systems and procedures, training of personnel in the use of quality tools, identification of needed quality laboratory improvements and continual development, monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators is required.
Essential Functions
Supervise and lead daily activities for all Quality Engineers.
Strategic planning for current and future laboratories, environmental testing, and calibration program improvements.
Monitoring performance of assigned teams and programs/reporting results/evaluating gaps and launching CI projects designed to improve processes and overall efficiency improvements.
Rollout and support QMS updates rolled out to the Inspection team and ensure proper training and efficiencies are achieved.
Customer complaint investigation/audit finding investigation/providing audit support.
Creation and maintenance of policies, procedures and work instructions.
Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings.
Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
Responsibilities

Follow all quality and safety rules and procedures and remind others.
Commit to addressing and reporting any unsafe condition or quality issue immediately.
Be empowered and speak up when unsafe behaviors are observed, or quality issues arise and to not place blame while investigating these issues.
Adhere to the principles of data integrity.
Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field
Manufacturing Engineering (3+ years)
Plastics experience with knowledge of extrusion, injection molding & compounding
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred
Knowledge of ISO 13485, GMP, and FDA requirements
Continuous Improvement (WCM, Kaizen) green belt training or higher
