Job Summary:
This position is responsible supporting the Quality Control activities of testing of raw materials (RM) and finished goods (FG), creation of RM and finished goods specifications. This role involves maintenance of the Supplier Qualification program.
Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for following and documenting quality procedures, programs and functions in a food and dietary manufacturing environment regulated by FDA and certified bodies.
· Updates and maintains the Supplier Qualification program for raw materials and components.
· Creates and reviews raw material specifications and finished goods specifications testing requirements for new and changed specifications.
· Prepares and sends samples to CMO/3rd party testing sites as it applies to Quality Control testing or raw materials, components, in-process, and customer samples.
· Tracks and receives 3rd party testing results and prepares RM release records for management approval.
· Reviews FG testing results to ensure product meet approved specifications.
· Prepares FP CofAs for management review and approval to release.
· Back-up for positive release of Raw/FG materials
· Assists in EMP schedule for Quality Assurance
· Assists in Air, water quality testing
· Prepares raw material test records for management review and approval to release.
· Participates in regulatory inspections and 3rd party audits as required.
· Contribute to the Material Review Board and Quality Management meetings.
· Assists in creating/editing finished product specification sheets
· Manages lab service provider certifications
· Assist in Finished good case label creation
· Support collaborative environment and teamwork in meeting organizational goals.
· Organize processing paperwork in their respective release folders.
· Update and organize all MMRs
· Organize documentation and logs for audits.
· Occasional visit to Santa Fe Springs Location

Pay: $27.00 – $31.00 per hour
