Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000 a year (The high end of the salary range is typically a longevity step) DEO.

Job Type: Full time

Shift: Monday to Friday

Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm -Weekends as needed

The Shipping and Inventory QC Manager is responsible for three essential functions: Shipping and distribution of packed fruit to our customers, Managing the inventory levels and the organization of the packed inventory, and the Quality of the packed inventory, ensuring proper quality control processes are followed to guarantee a high-quality product is delivered to our customers.

Summary:

Assure consistent quality of packed fruit by monitoring and enforcing good, automated manufacturing practice systems (GAMP), validating processes, and providing documentation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Interviews, hires, and trains new staff.

· Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the shipping department, ensuring efficient and timely loading of packed cartons to given metrics daily.
  • Implement and maintain effective shipping processes and procedures to optimize productivity and minimize errors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the production and repack team to ensure correct items are loaded for each order.
  • Assist Distribution Manager with any shipping-related issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies, in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Manage locations and storage methods of packed cartons, working with The Inventory Manager to keep items organized and quickly accessible.
  • Oversee shipping QC staff to ensure customer specs and grades are maintained.
  • Work with production team to monitor packed fruit inventory expiration dates, inventory turns and repack.
  • Identify fruit concerns and take appropriate actions to resolve current issues and avoid potential future problems by moving fruit to repack or working with the sales team to minimize risk of rejection.
  • Communicate with production team on appearance of fruit inventory, and any production related issues that are occurring.
  • Verify regulatory records are kept.
  • Facilitate customer inspector visits.
  • Utilize packed fruit quality information to ensure that the correct fruit is loaded at the right time, minimizing aged fruit and loss to the grower.
  • Assist sales staff with customer requests (customer samples, pictures, etc.).

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years QA experience in the food industry
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
