Summary

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team at Tube Fab/Roman Engineering. This role is essential in maintaining our commitment to quality and excellence in our products. The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for conducting inspections and tests to ensure that our tubing components meet industry standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Personnel Responsibilities

Provides support with maintaining comprehensive knowledge of development and use of standards or instructions and holding others accountable to follow set standards.

Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Continuous Improvement Responsibilities

Assists with monitoring quality and scrap dispositions, verifying quality standards, and working cross-functionally with appropriate departments to meet customer needs.
Assists with cross-functional/cross-shift communication of the needs of the team and internal concerns of the team.
Assists with continuous improvement initiatives for their department in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Responsible for analyzing problems and presenting solutions using standard problem-solving tools and methods.
Assists with developing, maintaining and improving the 5S standards in department.
Responsible for adherence to all ISO 14001/TS16949 requirements.
Responsible for accuracy of E2 reporting.
Support production implementation of new products and process trials/changes.

Safety Responsibilities

Responsible for identifying, reporting, and correcting unsafe work practices and environments.
Responsible for reporting all workplace injuries.
Refrains from any unsafe act that might endanger themselves or a co-worker.
Uses all safety devices provided for protection.
Practices good housekeeping at all times.
Complies with any existing policies.
Works according to good safety practices as posted, instructed, and discussed.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Ability to learn basic operation and care of equipment/processes within area of responsibility.
Excellent demonstrated interpersonal skills, strong communication skills, positivity, demonstrated professionalism and self-awareness.
Excellent demonstrated organization, time management, and prioritization skills; Must be detail oriented, keeping good records of events, maintaining visual management/control systems.
Demonstrates excellence in quality with a passion for learning and innovation; seeks perfection, embraces scientific thinking, and focuses on the process and assures quality at the source.
Interface with Quality Engineers to resolve customer complaints regarding quality.
Demonstrates focus on service creating value and maintaining consistency of purpose and thinks systemically.
Microsoft Office Skills required.
Ability to read and understand basic instructions.
Intermediate math skills required.

EDUCATION + KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles concepts (standardized work, problem-solving, 5S, Kanban) required.
Advanced knowledge with use of precision measurement equipment.
Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

3+ years Manufacturing Experience (preferred).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Required to stand for extended periods of time and frequently change locations.
Good hand/eye coordination.
Safety glasses and earplugs required in designated areas.
Ability to grasp, feel, handle, bend at the waist.
