This posting will be used for on-going recruitment and will remain open until filled. Applicant lists may be screened more than once. New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico.
Why does the job exist?
This position will coordinate quality and performance management function within the facility including compliance assessments, performance reports, prevention activities, policy review/development, and database management. Incumbent will facilitate compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulatory requirements.
How does it get done?
This position is responsible for implementing and conducting regular review of QA-PI Plan, reviewing and revising facility policies and procedures as needed. Position provides education and training to all staff in the areas of quality and effective record keeping; will chair hospital QA-PI meetings, monitor facility quality initiatives; and provide tools to staff for effective QA-PI activities and provide administration facility data as requested. This position works collaboratively with Medical Director and Hospital Administrator, senior leadership, clinical department chairs, safety/risk management, nursing, and pharmacy to develop and implement quality and safety programs while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation regulatory requirements. This position will ensure the facility’s compliance to maintain accreditation, licensure, and necessary certification. The position will implement and oversee the Facility QA-PI program and Medical Records Department while ensuring both programs follow the appropriate regulatory bodies and New Mexico Administrative Code.

Minimum Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of professional level experience operating within parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Employment Requirements
This position is designated a safety sensitive. Must successfully complete post offer preemployment criminal records background check is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Employment is subject to preemployment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a Rehabilitation Hospital setting, involving extended periods of walking, sitting, standing, and bending. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
