Duties
- You will provide a high level of expertise and creativity for the solution of complex Shipbuilding Quality Assurance problems involving multiple new construction contracts for naval ships and vessels.
- You will supervise the reviews and evaluations of contractor’s condition reports and recommendations for additional work and provides rational for approval or disapproval.
- You will administer the development of surveillance plans, accept/reject criteria, and sampling plans, for shipbuilding Productions of Quality Assurance problems.
- You will establish and maintain a corrective action system for all assigned Shipbuilding Quality Assurance actions.
- You will supervise the development, review, and negotiations for modifications to original specification and new construction specifications for work to be accomplished by the contractor.
- You will investigate quality problems and recommend corrective action.
- You will monitor the execution of the Ship Construction Test Program as specified in the pertinent shipbuilding specifications.
- You will coordinate the review of all final test reports and provide timely response to the shipbuilder.
- You will assure compliance with specifications, standards and contract requirements.
- You will perform liaison functions with other SUPSHIP departments, the Waterfront Operations Manager, the Project Manager, and the Quality Assurance officer.
- You will guide, motivate, and oversee the activities of individuals and teams.
