Supplier Quality Engineer – Billerica, MA
Manufacturer of advanced systems used in Medical Device, Defense, Data Center manufacturing, seeks an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to own vendor and supply chain quality assurance across new product introductions and current production. This is a critical role interfacing directly with suppliers, engineering, and shop floor management to ensure incoming materials and components meet specifications and that supplier performance continuously improves.
What You'll Do
Develop quality plans for new product introductions including FAIs, source inspections, incoming inspection plans, and PO flow-downs. Lead on-site supplier audits, evaluate prototypes, and approve corrective actions. Drive CAPA through the supply chain for non-conformances and quality escapes. Certify supplier processes for critical parts. Identify and eliminate cost of quality drivers including scrap and rework. Present monthly supplier quality data to management. Support RoHS/REACH/TSCA compliance activity. Up to 10% travel domestic and international.
What You Bring
- BS in Engineering or related technical field; 5+ years supplier quality experience
- Hands-on background in precision machining, sheet metal fabrication, and component special processes
- ISO 9001/AS9100 proficiency required; audit experience required
- Blueprint reading and military/industry specification familiarity
- Six Sigma tools and statistical methods experience
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- US citizenship required
Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 + bonus eligible
