Our client, a market leader in the construction materials industry, is seeking an experienced Technical Services and Quality Manager to join their team.

The Role:

As the Quality and Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing quality systems, managing laboratory operations, and ensuring environmental compliance. This pivotal role reports directly to the General Manager Operations and offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on product quality and compliance. This pivotal role combines hands-on testing with strategic management, offering a unique opportunity to impact product quality and improvement across multiple production lines and diverse range of aggregates, specialty sands, soil blends and modified mortars.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and drive continuous improvement

Manage a materials testing laboratory and supervise staff

Drive environmental compliance, including water testing analysis and government liaison

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to support new product launches and improvements

Maintain laboratory accreditation and equipment calibration

Provide technical solutions to production issues

The Ideal Candidate:

Holds a Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related field

Possesses 5+ years’ experience in laboratory testing of soils, sands, or cement-based products

Demonstrates proven experience with ISO 9001 and NATA quality control systems

Proven track record of leading improvement initiatives and encouraging management teams to develop solutions

Hands-on approach with willingness to spend significant time on the factory floor to understand processes and identify root causes of issues

Exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Shows proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis
