Position: Testing Quality Tech.

Quality Tech will do Product performance testing with equipment and machines at the Quality Laboratories to ensure quality products and comply with the sampling and testing regulatory program (all water heater models, all DD Cooktop models, all subassembly parts and Supplier’s parts, Analyze products failed on the field “autopsy”, Shipping test to audit packed products, others as necessary) are produced that meets the high GEA standards.

You will work to enhance the quality and quantity of work output and reduce the scrap rate while maintaining a safe work environment. This position is responsible for all Quality Audits and Tests to assure customers are given a quality product on schedule, and leading Quality improvement activities. Also, this role is responsible for controlling scrap and leading teams to resolve top Quality issues.

In this role you must be able to support associates and supplement the group’s labor force as needed on the production line.

  • WH – ATM Storage heater temperatures test.
  • WH – ATM Flue Gas temperature test.
  • WH – Electric PAIT test.
  • WH – ATM Bending-Axial load
    – Pressure test for corrugated tubes.
  • WH – ATM & Electric – Continuity, Hipot and ground bond test.
  • WH
    – All models (ATM and Electric) – Product audit.
  • DD Cooktop – All models (Electric and Gas) – Product Audit.
  • DD Cooktop – All models (Electric and Gas) – End of Line test.
  • DD Cooktop – All models (Electric and Gas) – Blower test verification.
  • DD Cooktop – All models (Electric and Gas) – manifold Leak test.
  • WH – All models (ATM and Electric) – Vibration test.
  • WH – All models (ATM and Electric) – Incline Impact test.
  • WH – All models (ATM and Electric) – Drop test.
  • Responsible for executing all products performance testing to comply with the Regulatory Test program.
  • Conduct daily Quality Audits and Quality Tests and focus efforts on the problem areas.
  • Support Quality activities in Fabrication and Assembly Areas to help cover members of the team during the first piece inspections, EOLAs and containment actions during the shift.
  • Provide feedback to management on resolution of current issues.
  • Liaison between Production and Quality
  • Support projects to improve processes and address corrective actions.
  • Quality Equipment Operation.
  • Assist in creation of MCPs and MCIs and that these are included in (SOP)
  • Identify quality issues and troubleshoot to resolution with the production team
  • Proper communication with the Quality team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a Quality related role in Manufacturing
  • Mechanical aptitude – ability to understand basic mechanical concepts and relationships
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must possess interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Positive work ethics and attitude; willingness to learn and meet expectations of the various assignments
  • Dependability; demonstrate and maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and generate testing reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
  • 2 to 3 years of Quality related roles
  • Must be able to read Calipers, Micrometers and Prints
  • 1 year experience with Microsoft Software including Excel, Word,andPower Point

  • Expertise and/or working knowledge of Fabrication and Assembly Areas.
  • Expert with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word,andPower Point
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree

Working Conditions

  • Physical working conditions:
  • Wear safety attire or proper PPE daily
  • Usually work indoors. All areas may not be temperature controlled
  • Physical demands of the position include Bending, stooping, twisting, lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling Handling and lifting of parts or materials – minimum of 50 lbs.
