JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for managing the continuing airworthiness of aircraft structural systems within the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO). The role focuses on structural integrity, damage assessment, repairs, corrosion control, fatigue monitoring, maintenance
program compliance, and ensuring that all structural maintenance activities comply with
regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIE
• Ensure the continued airworthiness of aircraft structural systems in accordance with approved maintenance programs and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Structural Inspection Programs (SIP), and Aging Aircraft Programs.
• Review and implement structural maintenance requirements issued by manufacturers and regulatory authorities.
• Maintain accurate structural records and repair documentation.
• Evaluate structural defects, damage reports, corrosion findings, dents, cracks, and other discrepancies reported by maintenance personnel.
• Perform technical assessments using approved manufacturer data and engineering documentation.
• Develop or review repair solutions in accordance with Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), and approved engineering orders.
• Coordinate with OEMs and approved design organizations when repairs exceed SRM limits.
• Monitor aircraft corrosion prevention and control programs.
• Review corrosion findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyse recurring corrosion issues and propose preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with corrosion inspection schedules and treatment requirements.
• Monitor fleet structural reliability and identify trends affecting aircraft integrity.
• Analyse recurring structural defects and initiate corrective actions.
• Support reliability review meetings with structural performance data and recommendations.
• Investigate significant structural events and findings.
• Support development and optimization of structural inspection programs.
• Review Maintenance Planning Documents (MPD) and structural task requirements.
• Evaluate escalation opportunities and inspection interval effectiveness.
• Ensure timely accomplishment of structural inspections and modifications.
• Provide technical support to Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Maintenance Planning, Quality and Safety departments.
• Review engineering documents, modifications, and repair schemes affecting aircraft structure.
• Assess the impact of modifications on structural integrity and maintenance requirements.
• Support aircraft lease return, delivery, and transition projects from a structural perspective.
• Ensure compliance with CAMO procedures and applicable aviation regulations.
• Support audits conducted by aviation authorities, quality assurance teams, lessors, and customers.
• Support investigations conducted by Safety and aviation authorities.
• Maintain structural records required for continuing airworthiness and lease obligations.
• Assist in updating CAMO procedures related to aircraft structures.
• Liaise with aircraft manufacturers, repair organizations, and engineering service providers regarding structural issues.
• Review engineering approvals and repair dispositions issued by OEMs.
• Coordinate structural repair activities with maintenance organizations and external engineering agencies.
• Undertake other duties as requested by Manager Aircraft Structures ensuring timeliness and utmost effective in completing the assigned tasks.
• Be available / ready to support operation if required after working hours and during the
weekends.
• Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIEN
CE• Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field with 4 years of experience preferably in aviation Engineering and Maintenanc
e.• OR ICAO Type II license with minimum of 6 years of relevant experience preferably in aviation Engineering and Maintenanc
e.• For Non-Omani: Relevant experience should be in Aircraft Reliability Program
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATION OR MEMBERSH
• Specialized training in aircraft structures, fatigue, damage tolerance, and corrosion management is preferred
• Weight and balance course is preferred
• Knowledge of regulatory and manufacturers documentations.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, materials, corrosion, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
• Good understanding of continuing airworthiness regulations.
Core Competencies
• In depth knowledge of the Structure Repair Manual.
• Ability to ensure compliance with authority, OEMs, and vendors requirements.
Technical Competences
• Handling out of SRM repair process.
• knowledge of extracting and reading engineering drawing.
• Maintenance Planning Documents (MPD) and structural inspection requirements.
