Job Summary

  • Senior Supplier Quality Engineer could be independently responsible for Supplier quality assurance for specific category as collaborating with internal (Engineering, Supply Development, Testing and Product Development) and External (Original Design Manufacturer, 3rd party) team on design reliability validation, manufacture quality assurance and continue quality improvement.

  • Overall responsibility for supplier quality and development for assigned suppliers, as the owner of the assigned categories, responsible for implementation of quality plan to ensure quality control of critical characteristics, improvement of quality control processes and programs, manufacturing capability, and optimization of the suppliers’ own supply sources, as well as the subsequent process audit and routine reviews of the effectiveness and implementation. Also includes lead on quality accident analysis during or after product lifecycle, and other related jobs assigned by management team.

Essential Duties and Responsibility

1) Quality Assurance

  • Factory’s manufacturing and quality process review and improvement, as well as process change management.
  • Category level product quality specification setup and drive alignment with suppliers.
  • Product quality plan setup, approval and execution monitor.
  • Be familiar with industry standards and transfer industry standards to ExB requirements
  • Set up product reliability requirements, and monitor reliability testing in different stages, including design, pilot run and on-going reliability testing.
  • Identify potential quality/production risk and take preventive action plans during New Product Introduction stage.
  • Introducing new quality tool to ExB’s quality process.
  • Pilot run validation, including manufacturing process and consistency.
  • Mass production readiness review (operation and manufacturing process part).
  • Develop and optimize suitable Inspection Plans as per the fixed process to guide inspection for supplier and 3rd party inspectors.
  • Shipment quality review and approval.
  • Identifying, reporting and tackling quality issues during mass production.
  • Lead the analysis and improvement of quality issues both in production and field.
  • Continuously enhance customer satisfaction by improving customer ratings.
  • Work closely with the Product Engineering team on customer rating and warranty expense data analysis for continuous product improvement after product launch.
  • Leading periodical communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders in terms of quality status and improvement plan

2) Suppliers and 3rd party Management and Development

  • Responsible supplier quality and process evaluation, including NPI, manufacturing process, quality system, and material management.
  • Initial factory capability improvement plan and follow up improvement action end to end.
  • Set up strategic suppliers for categories from quality perspective, and setup supplier development plan for specific categories.
  • Responsible for supplier quality system improvement.
  • Based on quality audit results and other quality performance, rank suppliers and set up supplier development plans for strategic suppliers.
  • Regular quality performance review with suppliers and set up improvement targets with suppliers.
  • Quality agreement setup with supplier.
  • Plan and implement service quality evaluation on 3rd party inspector jobs, and initiate theirservice quality improvement request, monitoring the improvement results.
  • Supplier on-board training

3) System & Process Management

  • Follow Standard Operation Process, identify and report process gaps or violence.
  • Responsible for sub-process setup and optimization.
  • Manage all quality related reports and documents by following SOP and ensure good access for history issue tracking and reporting.
  • Regular program framework review for making sure of efficiency and effectiveness.

4) Process Management

  • Manage quality activities to meet shipment schedules without scarifying quality requirements.
  • Setup quality related testing, inspection and audit schedule and manage outcomes.
  • Conducts other special projects and tasks as directed by line manager or higher-level management.
  • Leading periodical communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders in terms of quality status and improvement plan.

Education and Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree in related fields.
  • Certified Quality Engineer by ASQ is preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality engineering or production/ product engineering.
  • 2+ years of product quality engineering experience or supplier quality engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in vender management.
  • Strong understanding and have 2+ year practical experience at Quality system, Product development process evaluation, Product reliability prediction, Manufacture process control, Sampling plan and inspection, Continue improvement, Quantitative approach and tool, Quality cost analysis, etc.
  • Good at written and reading English, smooth communication in oral English.
  • Willing to share experience with others, and willing to help others to grow and success.
