About the Role
Our client, a large government agency in the NYC metro area, is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure quality, reliability, and security of mission-critical applications that support major infrastructure programs. The QA Analyst will be responsible for evaluating and testing software applications to ensure they meet high quality standards. This role involves developing and executing test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and maintain plans, test cases, and scripts for testing critical software applications
Perform functional, regression, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure software meets all requirements
Collaborate with software developers, project managers, and agency stakeholders to identify, document, and resolve defects
Build automated test scripts to improve efficiency and reliability of QA processes
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, software quality, and accessibility standards
Track and report defects and other software quality issues
Find and report scalability and reliability issues in software systems
Identify and recommend process improvements for software quality assurance
Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience in software testing and QA, preferably within a public sector setting
Proven experience ensuring quality and reliability in complex software application development programs that support major infrastructure projects
Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, proficiency in SQL, and familiarity with scripting languages
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and quality assurance tools and approaches
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; ISTQB or other relevant software QA certification preferred
