About the Role
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will report to the Manager of Engineering and serve as a primary guardian of product excellence. This role is designed for a technical quality expert who thrives on the challenge of balancing robust automation with advanced manual exploration. You will be responsible for defining how we test complex healthcare logistics systems, driving our automation strategy, and ensuring that every release meets the rigorous security and reliability standards required by our national health plan partners. You are someone who enjoys breaking complex systems to make them stronger and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans and architectural strategies for complex software systems, ensuring that new features are testable and meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing frameworks and test suites for web applications, APIs, and mobile platforms, integrating them directly into our CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform thorough manual and exploratory testing for complex features and edge cases while maintaining an automated regression suite to validate bug fixes across various browsers, devices, and operating systems.
- Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution, performing deep-dive root cause analysis on quality issues to prevent recurrence and improve overall system health.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to define acceptance criteria and ensure quality practices are integrated throughout the development lifecycle from the initial design phase through to deployment.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, effectively communicating testing progress and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance with a proven track record of designing and maintaining robust automation frameworks using tools like Cypress,Selenium, Playwright, or similar.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, with practical experience implementing comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Advanced expertise in API testing and schema validation using OpenAI and Swagger, ensuring contract reliability and data integrity across complex distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience testing multiple architecture types within the AWS ecosystem, and experience validating SQS and SNS integrations with Lambda functions.
- Proven expertise in modern code management and deployment workflows, utilizing GitHubfor version control and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
- Practical experience querying both SQL and NoSQL databases for data validation, along with familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
- Practical experience conducting performance and scalability testing using JMeter, K6, or similar tools to ensure system stability under high-traffic logistical loads.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a clear, respectful, and approachable communication style, dedicated to taking full ownership of the quality lifecycle and mentoring peers.
- Strong manual and exploratory planning and testing, along with defect management within anAgile environment.
