Manager, Supplier Quality & Risk required by a global data center developer, owner & operator. This position can be remote or Denver based.
This role will suit candidates from a Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk or Quality Engineering position with expertise in mission-critical electrical mechanical or industrial equipment manufacturing or from a data center developer or similar.
The role
- This position sits in the strategic Procurement function, and is responsible for technical and commercial assurance that the mechanical, electrical and OEM long lead data center equipment is sourced from risk assessed suppliers, and performs as specified.
- You will design and lead the standards for supplier qualification, audit, supplier risk assessments and supplier approvals.
- This role collaborates with the Procurement Managers and Category Managers, who own the supplier relationships, across OFCI and CFCI to define what good looks like on a quality and risk perspective.
- You will drive risk mitigation and corrective actions alongside the Procurement Managers and Category Managers.
Responsibilities
- Own the supplier qualification framework by defining criteria suppliers and vendors must meet, from a technical, commercial and operational perspective, including onsite capability assessments.
- New product qualification – introduce ‘FOAK’ (First of a Kind) qualifications for new product implementation. Define acceptance criteria and factor acceptance tests protocols.
- Own the supplier audit program including on-site audits, supplier KPI performance data
- Field quality and risk resolution – partner with commissioning and quality teams. Engage with GCs and sub-contractors to identify route course of problems to the manufacturer level.
- Build and maintain a supplier risk register and risk mitigation playbook
- Operate as a senior IC in the short term, owning supplier quality across categories
Profile
- Technical Operator – hands on credibility on a factor floor, factory acceptance testing
- Route Cause Analysis – ability to trace failed equipment back to source instead of automatically absorbing cost
- Risk assessment – ability to assess risk across a global supply chain
- Commercial awareness and technical authority
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk or Quality Engineering position.
- Significant experience with mission critical electrical mechanical or industrial equipment manufacturing (data center, semiconductor, heavy industrial etc)
- Subject Matter Expertise on ISO 9001 quality management systems, supplier audit methods (VDA 6.3, AIAG, or equivalent), structured problem solving (8D, A3, Six Sigma), quality tooling (FMEA, SPC, FOAK, and PPAP etc) and qualitative supplier risk assessments (financial, geopolitical, operations, , cyber etc).
- Software: Procore, NetSuite, or similar construction ERP systems (bonus)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
- Certifications such as CQE, CQA, CSSBB, or CPSM are a bonus
Compensation
Total comp for this role in the region of $200k-$225k (flexible for the right candidate)
